MAY 29th is ‘ROGATION SUNDAY’

Please join us next Sunday for our annual 'Rogation Sunday' service.

Rogation-tide arrived in England early in the 8th Century. In rural communities parishioners would walk around the parish 'beating the bounds' and imploring God to send seasonable wealth, keep the corn and roots and boughs in good health, and bring them to an ample harvest.

With this idea in mind we will be processing between our two Churches. We will stop to pray at our Parish boundaries and we will be asking for God's blessing on our local growers and farmers and for a good harvest to follow.

Please do join us. We will be meeting at St.Leodegar's, Hunston

at 10 am . We will have a short service there before we process across the fields to arrive at St.Stephen's, North Mundham at about 10.45 -10.50 am . We will then conclude our worship with a short service there.

We do hope that as many people as possible will join us for the procession across the fields. However, we fully appreciate that that will not be possible for everybody. With that in mind we will ensure that lifts are provided for anybody who would like one to or from either church.

Any questions please do contact James Russell on 782003 or Angela Matthews on 539901.

LENT LUNCHES

Thank you to everyone who was involved with the "Soup Lunches in Lent". That includes all the soup-makers, helpers and those who came to enjoy the soups.  We made £181 profit, and Di  Redford also made a donation from the raffle takings, so  a cheque for £259 has been sent to St Wilfrid's Hospice to help  with the "Hospice at Home" service.     Pat Carroll

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK

HUNSTON CHURCH FETE

2 pm to 4:30 pm Saturday 11th June in the Rectory Garden .

Cakes, toys, bric-a-brac, tombola, raffle, games, puppets, books, plants, home-made cream teas and Children’s Fancy Dress (“Best of British” theme for Fancy Dress).

If you would like to get involved in any way, please call Chris or Ann on 775966. Also, at the back of St Leodegar’s Church, there is a list of activities at the fete, please sign up if you wish to help on a specific activity.

Donations for bric-a-brac, tombola, raffle, toy and cake stalls will be gratefully received. It would be most helpful if donations for tombola and raffle were made sooner rather than later as it hugely helps those organising the stalls. Donations can be left at back of St Leodegar’s Church. Thank you.
