in the Parish of
St Stephens North Mundham with St Leodegars Hunston and St Giles Merston.

Next course to be announced

The 'Simply Christianity' Course is a brilliant opportunity to look more closely at the Christian faith, ask whatever questions you want to, and hopefully find some answers to these questions. If you are a new Christian or someone keen to explore the faith further this could be just for you. The Course runs for 6 weeks. If you are interested in the course, please let me know -  James

What is it?

Through the course, participants look at the unique story of Jesus Christ as told by Luke. Over six sessions, there is opportunity to look at the life of Jesus and His relevance to our lives today.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. I have little knowledge of the Bible and only just started to come to church, will I gain anything from the course?
A. Yes, there is a range of discussion topics which help develop a deeper understanding of the life of Jesus.  Care is taken to ensure the discussion does not become overwhelming.

Q. I attend church regularly, surely I would be taking a place which could be more useful to someone else, will I gain anything from the course?
A. Yes, because there is a lot of opportunity to think about and discuss the topics, a range of experience is very useful and stimulating.

Q. I don't think I can make it to every meeting, can I still join the course?
A. Yes, participants receive a Guest's Manual and this offers an opportunity for some light background reading.  It is possible to miss a session and catch up later.

Q. Will the size of the group give me confidence to speak about my faith?
A. Yes, the group is likely to be fairly small for example in the range of 6 to12 people.  If the group is very small, discussion and ideas can be limited.  If the group is very large it may be intimidating.

Q. I have heard that people read passages from the Bible out loud.  Can I opt out of that?
A. Yes, the purpose of the course is to allow you to explore your Christian faith, not to embarrass or make you feel uncomfortable in the presence of other people.

Q. Are there any tests?
A. Yes, daily.  Discovering and strengthening your faith will help you pass with flying colours.  There are no tests on the course.

What do I need to do to join a course?

Please speak to James and he will advise you if there is a place available on the next course - see the calendar for when the next course starts.
